Rachel qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and enjoyed 14 years in general practice. In 2013 Rachel started to study towards a postgraduate qualification in Small Animal Medicine and in 2018 was awarded a masters level certificate in advanced veterinary practice. In September 2019, after completing a further synoptic exam, this certificate was designated in the area of Small Animal Medicine. In January 2022, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognised Rachel as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. Rachel joined our medicine referral team in July 2021. Rachel enjoys the challenge of complicated internal medicine cases and has a keen interest in diagnostic imaging, especially abdominal ultrasound.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys adventures in the countryside with her spirited horse, Skye or climbing the peaks of the Shropshire hills with her energetic Labrador, Dill. She is also a keen wild swimmer, and can often be found splashing in Shropshire lakes or on the Welsh coast! When not out causing mischief in the great outdoors, Rachel will be snuggled up on the sofa attempting to read a good book or catch up on the latest Netflix series. Her two cats, Freddie and Ernie usually have other ideas however and take great joy in sitting on said book or in front of the TV!
