Hywel qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon at the University of Edinburgh in 1997 and has worked at the practice ever since, becoming partner in 2007.
He studied for and achieved his Certificate in Small Animal Medicine (CertSAM) in 2005. He has a specialist interest in internal medicine and accepts referrals both from within the practice and from neighbouring veterinary practices. He likes nothing better than the challenge of using an endoscope (long camera) to remove foreign objects from the stomachs of dogs who have swallowed something they shouldn't have; without the need for surgery. When not looking after other people's pets, Hywel can be found tending to his family's menagerie of horses, sheep, hens, ducks, rabbits, and naughty cats.
Hywel has been accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine.
